FAQs:
What is a Concierge Practice? This is a model of Doctor’s Office where patients generally pay out of pocket for a membership fee, or a fee for each service. Because the Office generally requires out-of-pocket expense, or is not “in-Network,” the Office keeps a smaller patient panel per doctor. Therefore in return you get better appointment availability, and often longer, unhurried visits with your Doctor.
Is there a “Retainer Fee”, “Membership Fee” or “Subscription” to belong to this office? No! I do not charge Retainer Fees, Membership Fees or Subscription Fees to “belong” to my office. Once you have a “New Patient” Visit, you are an established patient with me until you decide to change doctors, or over 3 years have passed since your last visit with me.
If you don’t charge a Membership Fee, what are the costs for your office? See my “Fees” Page for more information. The full annual cost would depend on how often you need to see me over the course of a year. If you only see me once per year, the cost of your New Patient Visit, and subsequent Established Annual visits would be your annual cost for access to this “Concierge Medical Practice”.
How does your practice compare to other Concierge Models by price? Annual fees charged by other practices are simply to be a member to have access to the office and needs to be paid every year. Other offices charge this fee regardless of how many times you are seen in their office during the year, and often they still bill your insurance for the visits you have. The current rates in this area are between $2000 and $7000 dollars per year. For those prices alone, you could see me between 7 and 25 times per year before my costs would equal theirs. (And I hope no one needs to see any doctor that often!)
Should I still have Insurance? Yes. Charges in my office are for my physician services only. While this office does not accept insurance in the office as payment for my services, I still use your insurance when ordering your lab work, imaging studies, physical therapy or referrals (otherwise these will also be out of pocket). Large ticket items like Urgent Care, ER Visits, Hospitalizations, surgery or procedures are not covered through our office visits.
Can I use an HSA/FSA account to pay for visits? Yes! Out of pocket expenses including office visits are eligible for HSA/FSA payments. You can use your HSA/FSA card as credit or debit at the time of service.
Will I see a Doctor? YES! While in-network offices often have multiple types of providers (NP’s,PA’s), this office only has a Doctor. You will always see the Doctor.
Will I see the same Doctor? Yes! This office is privately owned and operated by Dr Schlosser, MD. All office visits will be with Dr Schlosser, MD.
How soon can I schedule an appointment? If you call early enough in the day, you could very likely be seen in the same day. Next day is also often available. If you are not in a rush, you can schedule days, weeks or months in advance if you choose.
How do I schedule? If you are ready to schedule you can click on the “Schedule Online” button at the top of each main page of this website and pick your appointment type and time slot. If you still have a few questions, feel free to call the office. You can click the “Call Now” button at the top of each page which will place my office number in your phone dialer. I will then discuss any further questions you may have, and assist you with scheduling.
